IBM MQ for z/OS infrastructure
- Maintain stable operation of MQ Queue Managers and Queue Sharing Groups (QSGs).
- Prevent message loss, duplication, and delivery disruptions.
- Support business-critical transactions that depend on MQ messaging.
- Administer Queue Sharing Groups and Shared Queues for continuous service availability.
- Support disaster recovery, failover, and resilience testing activities.
- Ensure MQ infrastructure can recover quickly from failures without business impact.
- Diagnose and resolve MQ failures impacting business applications.
- Investigate channel outages, queue build-ups, triggering issues, and connectivity failures.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents.
- Collaborate with application, z/OS, network, and distributed MQ teams during critical incidents.
- Assist application teams in implementing reliable messaging solutions.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives leveraging MQ as an enterprise integration backbone
- As a MQ Systems programmer, install, maintain, and provide 24X7 support for MQ z/OS and other related products

- Core WAS for z/OS Administration
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of WebSphere Application Server for z/OS.
- Understanding of WAS z/OS architecture
- Application deployment and lifecycle management.
- z/OS Integration Knowledge
- Application Deployment & Support
- IBM MQ Queue Manager administration on z/OS.
- Understanding of Queue Sharing Group architecture.
- Shared Queue administration.
- Coupling Facility concepts.
- Shared Queue recovery procedures.
- Group Queue Manager administration.
- Queue and channel administration using MQ panels and commands.
- Work knowledge on MQ monitoring tool like CA sysview product.
- Working knowledge of MQ clusters/channels and experience in a sysplex environment.
