Updated September 2026 · Supply Chain Analytics
Supply chain hiring in India has moved to analytics, and experienced analysts are hard to find.
Supply chain data scientists grew 33% in a year while traditional planning titles barely moved. India has about 1.3 lakh professionals who combine supply chain planning with analytics tools, and every level from four years' experience onward is very hard to hire. Read in five findings, GCCs included.
Supply chain data scientists are the fastest-growing role, up 33% in a year. Demand planners, analysts and inventory planners grew 3% or less over the same twelve months, and planning and IBP managers were flat.
Hiring gets very hard from the fourth year of experience. Early-career professionals are moderately easy to hire. From four years onward every level is rated very hard, and the number of professionals per year of experience falls from about 7,200 to 2,100.
Pay rises steeply with experience and platform skills. Entry-level analysts start at ₹3–6 LPA and heads of supply chain analytics reach ₹40–100+ LPA. Analytics roles carry an estimated 30–55% premium over traditional supply chain operations at the same experience.
