A biosciences researcher and supply-chain operator before she was a marketer, she builds brands from the buyer outward: who the work is for, what has to be true for them to find it, and what keeps them. Since joining Recruise, she has built the firm’s first marketing function on its Rare-Hire Record, the retention ledger on every senior leader placed since 2014, launching The Mandate Desk, the Talent Radar and the Compensation Index, and the editorial program that turns placement data into decisions for CHROs and GCC heads.
Christabel joins Recruise from upGrad, where she led marketing for upGrad and upGrad KnowledgeHut, running demand generation that drove revenue and rebrands that changed how the market read the business. Before that she held marketing and business roles across pharma, biosciences, real estate and fintech, and began her career getting Indian medicines into MSF, WHO and UNICEF supply chains across Francophone Africa.
As an Agile coach, Christabel has worked with product and engineering teams and their leaders on how they work together. As an ICF-certified career-design coach, she helps mid-career professionals design what comes next with what they have already built. At Recruise she leads the community for CXOs who are Director-to-VP professionals in India’s capability centres.

Which AI economy is your GCC's leadership hiring built for?
Anthropic modelled three AI economies to 2030. In the middle one AI can do half of all knowledge work, and GCC leadership hiring should plan for it.
How the choice gets framed decides who gets hired
Same candidates, same brief, a different set of words, a different hire. Four decades of framing research, applied to shortlists, briefs and offers.
Three team models to retire, and the one AI makes worse
Tuckman, Belbin and Hawthorne rest on thin or misread evidence, and an agreeable AI makes the Abilene paradox worse. What GCC heads can do instead.
Meet Scout, our mascot. (She prefers Talent Cartographer-in-Residence.)
In recruiting, the purple squirrel is the perfect candidate nobody ever actually finds. Then one walked into our office and started asking questions.
Hiring for judgement when everyone can use the tools
When the skill is commodity, the differentiator is knowing where to apply it. How to assess for that.
The pyramid is flattening. Volume recruiting is optimising for a shrinking market.
The charter that needed 100 now needs 60, but the 60 are harder to find and matter more. What that does to how you staff a desk.
The capability you bought a vendor for is the one you should have hired
There’s a moment a maturing GCC should pull a capability in-house. The hiring signals that say ‘now’, and the cost of missing them.
The mandate test: five questions that reveal whether a GCC head owns hiring
Before you accept or scope the role, five questions expose whether a GCC head’s hiring authority is real or nominal.
Succession is a seat you fill years before it’s empty
The centres that survive a leader’s exit named the next two names quietly, long before the transition became urgent.
The first roles a GCC should stop hiring, and the one it should over-hire
Which GCC seats are shrinking in headcount, which single capability to over-invest in now, and the re-org sequencing.
The three things every GCC gets wrong about senior hiring
Three inherited HQ assumptions that fail in-market, and why cloning the parent company’s playbook is the fatal one.
The retention problem is a selection problem you didn’t notice
By the time a leader is leaving, the mistake is eighteen months old. A hard truth about why the best retention work happens before the offer.
Three parts of your hiring playbook that won’t survive a headcount freeze
Which sourcing and closing assumptions collapse under a freeze, and what replaces them when reqs disappear.
The leadership assessment we run before a GCC head hire closes
The four dimensions that predict whether a leader will grow with the centre or plateau with it, drawn from two decades of placements.
The skills index: what GCCs actually paid for AI talent this quarter
Band-by-band movement across IT and AI & Data roles, drawn from placements closed in Q1.
The title inflation nobody wants to name
‘Head of’ means less every year, and it’s distorting how leaders are hired and paid. What we see when the label and the mandate stop matching.
One hiring pattern worth knowing, every ten days.
The Mandate Desk is our read on the senior GCC talent market — one signal that moved, the read behind it, and one thing worth doing. Written from live placement data.
