What You’ll Do
• Own end-to-end estate operations — cultivation, harvesting, processing, and quality — for
the coffee crop, with accountability for yield and quality outcomes
• Lead and manage the estate’s workforce, including labour planning, welfare, and compliance
with plantation labour regulations
• Drive adoption of precision agriculture and water-management practices as part of BSR’s
wider modernisation of its agro business
• Manage the estate’s budget and commercial performance, including relationships with
buyers, processors, and auction/export channels for the crop
• Maintain and improve estate infrastructure — processing units, irrigation, worker housing,
and welfare facilities
• Bring cross-crop expertise where relevant — tea, pepper, Arecanut, and timber sit alongside
coffee across BSR’s agro business, and experience across these is a genuine advantage
• Represent the estate in dealings with the local community, regulatory bodies, and industry
associations Hands-on experience in coffee estate management is essential
• Experience in tea, pepper, Arecanut, or timber is a strong added advantage
• Currently working as a Deputy Manager (or equivalent) at a large or well-established
plantation, ready to step up to full estate leadership
• Comfort managing a plantation workforce, including labour welfare and statutory
compliance
• A practical understanding of estate economics — yield, cost of cultivation, and crop
realisation
