Software Engineer II (QA)
Responsibilities:
· Able to identify business risks & contribute to user story definition.
· Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks for backend APIs, microservices, and UI.
· Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
· Conduct functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing in agile environments
· Participate in sprint planning, story grooming, and contribute to definition of done from a QA perspective.
· Analyze test results, identify root causes, and report clear, actionable defects.
· Continuously improve QA practices and contribute to test strategy and coverage expansion.
· Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and work with DevOps to run tests in AWS environments.
· Experience in defining and reviewing Test Cases & Plans.
· Creativity and thinking out-of-the-box as this project heart of store technology.
· Experience in writing automation frameworks from scratch.
· Experience and in-depth knowledge of one or more programming languages (ex: JavaScript, Java, C#, etc.).
· Experience with one or more test tools & frameworks (ex: Selenium Web driver, cypress, Karate, JMeter, etc.).
· Team player mentality, actively cooperating with both engineering and non-engineering colleagues.
Education & Experience:
· Degree in Computer Science or similar area of study.
· Minimum 5+ years of experience in QA automation
· Experience working in SCRUM environments.
· Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js) or Java.
· Basic development knowledge in Core Java and Spring Boot.
· Experience with test automation frameworks such as:
¨ Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or WebdriverIO (for UI testing).
¨ Postman, RestAssured, or Supertest (for API testing).
· Experience with writing tests for RESTful APIs and microservices.
· Proficient in using test runners like Mocha, Jest, JUnit, or TestNG.
· Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, or K6.
· Experience with BDD tools like Cucumber, Gherkin, or Behave.
· Familiarity with TestRail, JIRA, or similar test management and bug tracking tools.
· Knowledge of database testing using SQL or NoSQL queries.
· Familiarity with executing tests in AWS-based environments.
· Experience with:
¨ CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline)
¨ Docker-based test execution or containerized test environments
¨ Using CloudWatch, S3, and EC2 to support QA processes
