Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional with 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise software packaging, installation engineering, and installer validation across Windows and Linux environments. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Revenera InstallShield and InstallAnywhere, Windows Installer (MSI) technology, scripting, Java, database connectivity, enterprise security, and build automation tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and validate enterprise software installers across Windows and Linux environments.

  • Design and develop Windows installers using Revenera InstallShield.

  • Work extensively with Windows Installer (MSI) technology, including MSI tables, sequence tables, and custom action execution contexts.

  • Implement custom actions using Immediate and Deferred execution in System Context.

  • Configure and validate installer rollback execution.

  • Develop Linux/Unix installers using Revenera InstallAnywhere.

  • Implement Java custom actions, panel rules, and response file handling in InstallAnywhere.

  • Develop and maintain installation scripts using VBScript, PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python.

  • Configure Java runtime environments, manage JAR packaging, and support JDBC database connectivity.

  • Perform database-related installation and configuration activities involving Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle Database.

  • Execute DDL scripts and manage database user/role permissions, tablespaces, and PDBs.

  • Configure and troubleshoot Windows Service logons, Active Directory user rights, Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSA), and ACL permissions.

  • Work with Gradle using Kotlin or Groovy DSL for build automation.

  • Use Git and CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins to support build and release processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in enterprise software packaging, installation engineering, and installer validation across Windows and Linux environments.

  • Advanced knowledge of Revenera InstallShield.

  • Strong understanding of Windows Installer (MSI) technology.

  • Hands-on experience with MSI tables, sequence tables, and custom action execution contexts (Immediate vs. Deferred in System Context).

  • Experience with installer rollback execution.

  • Hands-on experience developing Linux/Unix installers using Revenera InstallAnywhere.

  • Proficiency in VBScript, PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python.

  • Solid understanding of Java runtime configuration, JAR packaging, and JDBC database connectivity.

  • Practical working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle Database.

  • Understanding of DDL execution, database user/role permissions, tablespaces, and PDBs.

  • In-depth understanding of Windows Service logons, Active Directory user rights, gMSA, and ACL permissions.

  • Experience with Gradle (Kotlin or Groovy DSL), Git, and CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing Java custom actions, panel rules, and response file handling using Revenera InstallAnywhere.

  • Experience working with multiple scripting languages across Windows and Linux environments.

  • Experience supporting enterprise build and release automation processes.
