Overview

Lead and drive the execution of high-impact software projects, ensuring high-quality technical delivery while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. The role is responsible for managing development teams, optimizing delivery pipelines, and aligning engineering initiatives with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Execution & Delivery

• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Drive agile execution across multiple sprints and releases, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Define engineering roadmaps in collaboration with product and business teams to support strategic goals.
• Lead technical debt reduction, system scalability, and maintainability initiatives.
• Ensure CI/CD efficiency through automated testing, security, and observability enhancements.

Technical Leadership

• Provide hands-on technical mentorship and ensure adoption of best practices in software development, security, and performance optimization.
• Lead teams in designing and developing scalable, cloud-native solutions using Microservices, Event-Driven, and API-first architectures.
• Collaborate with Principal Architects and engineering leadership to ensure technology strategy alignment.

People Leadership & Team Development

• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and growth.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, career development sessions, and succession planning.
• Drive employee engagement and retention by building a high-performance and inclusive team culture.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Business Alignment

• Partner with Product, Business, and Design teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Proactively manage dependencies across teams and ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.
• Work effectively with cross-geography teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment of goals, and smooth collaboration across different time zones.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, balancing business needs with engineering priorities and technical constraints.
• Lead engineering efforts to balance speed, scalability, and technical excellence.

Operational & Risk Management

• Drive operational excellence, ensuring system reliability, incident management, and root cause analysis.
• Implement security, performance, and availability SLAs while maintaining compliance with governance standards.
• Identify, track, and mitigate technical and delivery risks to ensure smooth execution.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in RESTful API development, server-side technologies, and cloud-based architectures.
• 7+ years of experience in mobile native development.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience, including performance management, hiring, and coaching.
• Proven track record of leading development teams in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where management of complex product requirements is a driver of success.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams building and growing native mobile applications.
• Strong knowledge of mobile development frameworks and tools, including Kotlin, Swift, and Firebase.
• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of Microservices architecture, mobile applications, and distributed systems.
• Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
• Experience with middleware technologies.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD automation, DevOps, and modern software engineering practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, creativity, and innovation mindset.
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects with multiple dependencies and ensure high-quality releases.
• Strong skills in risk identification, issue resolution, and process improvement.
• Ability to align engineering priorities with business outcomes and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience with highly available, large-scale enterprise systems and performance tuning.
