Associate Engineer II – Node.js Job Overview

We are looking for an Associate Engineer II – Node.js to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Node.js development, microservices architecture, and React.js, along with exposure to AWS cloud services and database technologies. Experience with MongoDB will be preferred.

The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable applications and APIs while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance scalable backend applications using Node.js.

• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Build efficient, reliable, and scalable microservices-based architectures.

• Develop and integrate responsive frontend components using React.js.

• Work with databases such as MongoDB and other relational or NoSQL databases.

• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications on AWS.

• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.

• Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other developers.

• Contribute to application performance optimization, scalability, security, and reliability.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation as required.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, estimation, and delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and backend development.

• Good understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and asynchronous programming.

• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and API development.

• Hands-on experience with React.js and modern frontend development.

• Experience working with AWS services and cloud-based application deployment.

• Good understanding of database concepts and experience with at least one database technology.

• MongoDB experience is preferred.

• Understanding of software development lifecycle, coding standards, and version control systems such as Git.

• Good debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and Agile development environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with TypeScript.

• Experience designing and developing production-grade microservices.

• Knowledge of Docker and containerized applications.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, or similar.

• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and API testing.

• Understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.

• Experience with performance tuning and scalable application design.
